Training for People who work with People (TFP)

TFP is committed to delivering training that is:

  • balanced in terms of providing accurate factual material and identifying how this can be used in the work setting
  • culturally sensitive and evidence based
  • relevant to participants’ role profiles
  • applicable to the work setting and identifies how it can be applied to practice
  • demonstrates measurable learning outcomes
  • provides evidence of continuing professional development and competency.

  To achieve this Louise offers:

  • consultation to identify precise learning outcomes for each organisation
  • aligns training to relevant National Occupational Standards in terms of
    knowledge and understanding criteria
  • designs a Continuing Professional Development worksheet for
participants to demonstrate learning for all training events
  • pre and post training questionnaires and evaluations which are
analysed and summarised for the commissioning organisation.

Organisational Training

Each training event is available either as a stand- alone booking or as part of a training programme designed to meet an organisation’s specific needs.

If your organisation would like to discuss either a rolling programme of training for larger numbers of staff over an agreed period of time in one or more subject areas, or a programme combining a selection of several training events, you can use the contact form to get in touch with Louise with your requirements. She will call you back to discuss specifics.

All training is evaluated using a pre and post training questionnaire, the results analysed and reported to the commissioning organisation and the participants are provided with a Continuing Professional Development Worksheet to provide evidence of learning. This also supports the commissioning organisation’s commitment to ongoing professional development.

Louise also works collaboratively with Inspire Health and Mind to provide an intensive eight day training programme for Tier 1 staff who work with people affected by substance misuse. This programme provides the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to work effectively and safely in Tier 1 settings with people affected by substance use. We are pursuing accreditation through the Open College Network for this programme.
